Carpe diem | supervisor MgA. Leona Matějková
People totally start to infill the motto Carpe diem until the moment, when their „time for enjoying the day" is ending.
The last place of dying people is in a high hospital bed, cold, impersonal machine. With this time is always connected fear. Dying people are divided into two basic groups. First, which their illness accepted and they are scared about the rest of their health and that’s why they need to feel that they are in their bed safe. Second, which their illness doesn’t want to accept and till they have some power they try to escape from the bed which is evidencing it. In both of cases by using classical hospital bed are coming problems - Patient is “fenced” by a railing or he falls down on a floor and gets hurt. This new bed by its shape of the mattress with punched outsides secure feeling of safety and mattress under it serves as a saving part. Important is also a feeling of independence. That’s why the head of the bed is created as a cabinet that is attainable for the lying person. He can organize all the space by himself. The same important are also dependents and how they will the person remember. The whole open position makes this bed 9,20m long space, which should be used as a bed for members of the family which are spending time in a hospital with patient and especially as social space for his visitors. This bed is possible to move e.g. to park, open mattresses and spent together nice time. For a possibility of bed positioning for sitting or gathering up is insides of mattress missing the stiffener. This space is filled in by flexible material memoform magnifoam which is also used for the rest of mattresses. For this are modified also mattresses on sides. The drawer is created in such a way that laying a person can get in comfortably. Side inside of drawer (on a side to the patient) is lower for easy taking things out from the depth of the drawer. |
